Ukmerges street is one of the most important arteries in Vilnius. There are big traffic flows, public transportation, many services, shopping malls, facilities. The street acts as a local center, however, does not look like a center: it is very dominated by cars, there are many unidentified car parking areas, lack of safety for pedestrians and cyclist.

Urban development vision and public space humanization strategy for Ukmerges street proposes actions how to reorganize traffic lanes and gain spaces for cycling and pedestrian paths, create network of routes, how to improve safety, environmental quality, add new plantation, create new public spaces. Furthermore, the strategy proposes how these improvements could stimulated transformation and redevelopment of the street.
