Sustainable urban mobility plan

Main goal of the sustainable urban mobility plan for Panevezys 2030 is to strengthen attractiveness of the city as the regional center by improving urban mobility in the city and the region. Firstly, mobility infrastructure is improved in the major city streets – urban axes, where lanes and car parking are reorganized to make space for bicycle and pedestrian paths, safety measures implemented. Furthermore, public transportation services are improved: e-ticketing, travel information, routes, interchange between city and regional busses and various other measures. Lastly, a lot of attention is paid to local centers, where public space improvements will encourage active mobility – cycling and walking.


Sustainable urban mobility plan consists of comprehensive existing situation and thematic analysis, three sustainable mobility development alternatives for 2030, elaborated selected scenario and detailed action plan to achieve it.
